Goalkeeper Jason Martin is excited for this weekend's Muratti at Footes Lane against Jersey. Last year Jason was on the bench for Guernsey's 1-0 loss at Springfield. But he's hoping this year will be different.
Jason, who has just won the Priaulx League with St Martin's and is in the Stranger Cup final and FA Cup next week, is in the Guernsey squad for the Inter Games Football Tournament in Ynys Mon next month. The tournament in Ynys Mon is being held due to the hosts of the 2019 Island Games - Gibraltar - being unable to include football because of a lack of pitches. We pinned him down for a 60-second quick fire interview ahead of the game on Saturday.
Name: Jason Martin
Age: 24
Club: St Martin's
Caps for Guernsey: 1
Supports: Leeds United
How are you feeling? Nervous, but very much excited.
You're not just a great goalkeeper but also pretty handy on the cricket field. Tell us how catching was your thing? I was a goalkeeper for Rovers growing up, from minis all the way through to Under 18s. It was only from that age that wicket keeping became natural to me whilst I stopped playing football for three years.
Stick your neck on the line and give us your prediction for Saturday? 2-0 Win for Guernsey.
